ISO Standards
PROCESS OF GETTING ISO CERTIFICATION
Construction organizations and projects that would like to achieve the relevant ISO certification should embark on this initiative with the assistance of their internal QA/QC manager and/or external consultants. A number of training sessions on the respective ISO standard awareness, documentation and internal audit must be conducted, either for a group of people or for selected people of the organization or project.
Required documentation for the respective ISO standard as stipulated in the standard must be prepared and practised. Evidence of ISO standard implementation and effectiveness must be demonstrated.
Stepwise Process
- Initiation: Engage internal QA/QC manager and/or external consultants to guide the certification process.
- Training: Conduct awareness sessions, documentation workshops, and internal audit training for relevant personnel.
- Documentation: Prepare all required documents as per the ISO standard, including policies, procedures, manuals, and records.
- Implementation: Put the documented systems into practice and ensure they are consistently followed.
- Evidence Collection: Demonstrate effectiveness of the system through records, audits, and compliance evidence.
- Pre-Certification Review: Ensure all preparatory works are complete and satisfactory before approaching certification bodies.
- Certification Audit: Contact accredited ISO certification bodies such as Bureau Veritas, TUV, DNV, or Lloyd’s Register to conduct the certification audit.
Once the audit is successfully completed and compliance is verified, the organization/project will be awarded the ISO certification.
