Punch List Items
The punch list items identified during line walk, ITR-A, ITR-B and ITR-C should be rectified on the spot or entered into the database.
A punch list item is work that is incomplete or not installed or not tested in accordance with design or codes and specification. A punch list is raised, if required, when a system has been handed over as mechanically completed or commissioned and a number of such items is outstanding.
Punch list items are categorized as shown below:
CAT A
Items that prevent the safe operations of plant and equipment in its final operation mode and would present a safety hazard to personnel operating the equipment. “A” items are classed as major punch items.
CAT B
Items that cover work that is incomplete or not in accordance with design but that does not prevent commissioning or operating activity or cause a safety hazard. “B” items are classed as minor punch items. Items may be completed after acceptance.
